Join us for Wigglers Storytime! Ms. Beth engages our early and pre-readers with movement, music, crafts, and stories, to develop literacy, social skills, and confidence! Wigglers does not meet when Kingsley Schools is not in session, including snow days. For any questions about this program, call the Kingsley Branch Library at 231-263-5484. This program is free and open to the public.

**Gather 2 Grow Free Summer Lunch Program** **Interlochen Public Library** **Monday–Friday | 11:00 AM–12:00 PM** Interlochen Public Library is proud to partner with Gather 2 Grow to provide free healthy sack lunches to children and teens throughout the summer. Lunches are available to all youth ages 18 and under, as well as adults ages 26 and under with disabilities. Families are welcome to stop by the library between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to pick up a nutritious lunch at no cost. This program helps ensure that children in our community continue to have access to healthy meals when school is not in session. Horse and Wagon Tours in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District

Clip clop back in time to experience the Port Oneida Rural Historic District the way they did in the late 1800s – early 1900s! Learn about the life of the early pioneers, and their landscape as we travel by horse and wagon through the fields and side roads of this significant agricultural community of over 100 years, with beautiful vistas and farmsteads. Meet at: Port Oneida Heritage Center/Olsen Farm Our Horses: The stars of the tours are our two Belgium horses. You will learn more about the horses on the tour!

Heroes of the Storm

Step into the boots of a US Life Saving Service surfman! Sleeping Bear Dunes needs you—especially kids—to help practice the Beach Apparatus Drill. The Beach Apparatus was a land-based rescue method used by the US Life-Saving Service. A small cannon sent ropes out to a sinking ship, creating a zip-line from the ship to the shore. The apparatus saved thousands of lives nationwide, including here in the Manitou Passage. Join the demonstration to help "fire" a kid-powered Lyle Gun and rescue victims from a "shipwreck". No experience necessary, just a sense of adventure! Perfect for families, kids, and anyone curious about Great Lakes Maritime history. Arrive a few minutes early as drills begin on Thursday at 3 pm sharp. In past years, after the demonstration, a replica Lyle gun was fired on the beach using a black-powder charge. This firing will not occur in 2026. National Park Service historic weapons demonstrations can only be conducted by a certified Historic Weapons Supervisor. Sleeping Bear Dunes is currently without a Historic Weapons Supervisor.
